Internship Description
The Internship Program in “Techniques to integrate biological control into integrated pest management” is a learning opportunity to attract talented young candidates who are strongly motivated to share their new perspectives, innovative ideas, and latest research experience. For qualified, motivated applicants, this position offers exposure to theoretical and practical aspects of biocontrol agents that are major drivers of organic agriculture for pest and pathogen control as well as urban pests in today’s concepts. Depending on qualifications, this may include but is not limited to, opportunities to provide supervised assistance in areas of biological control.
Eligibility
The applicant should have completed B.Sc./ B.Tech./ M.Sc. in any Life Sciences/ Agriculture and allied areas from a recognised University/ Research institute. Hands-on experience in handling microbial culture would be preferable.
Duration and Expected Output
The internship will be for a period of 12 months from the date of joining, starting from July 2023. Interns shall be guided under the direct supervision of a Senior Scientist. Interns shall be required to submit a report/paper (along with a soft copy) at the end of the internship, including inter-alia, his/her observations, and suggestions, if any, regarding any possible improvement in the system. The internship would require a total of 48 hours per week. The daily work schedule would be based on the need of the research group.
Remuneration
A monthly Internship fee of Rs. 14300/- would be paid. If the candidate leaves or discontinues the internship in between, that is, before the completion of 12 months, the candidate will not be entitled to any certificate. On completion of the internship, the organization will issue a certificate to the successful interns.
