Process and Guidelines for
3rd Biodiversity Samrakshan Internship Programme (BSIP) 2021-2022
The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) and UNDP wish to engage dynamic and creative students, who are willing to
learn about natural resource management and biodiversity conservation; support the projects of NBA in various States
and Union Territories; and technically assist the State Biodiversity Boards/UT Biodiversity Councils in discharge of their
mandates.
Description of Tasks:
Assist in the operationalisation and functioning of Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs)
in the States and Union Territories
Assist BMCs in the preparation of People’s Biodiversity Registers (PBRs)
Assist in the GOI-NBA-UNDP India Biodiversity Awards process
Assist in the implementation of Biological Diversity Act, 2002
Locations
Interns will be placed in NBA – Chennai, MoEFCC and UNDP – New Delhi and the State Biodiversity Boards/UT Biodiversity Councils across the country.

Eligibility Criteria
(i)Postgraduate degree and interest in natural resource management
Must be between 21 – 30 yrs of age as on 10th October 2021
(ii) (Candidates pursuing their Postgraduate degree may also apply. However, they are required to submit a copy of their Masters Degree by 1 November 2021 to qualify for the award of internship.)

Stipend: 22,500/month

Date of Online home-based Examination: 13 November 2021 (tentative)
Selection Process
Applicants must submit an online application. S/he must give an online exam on aspects of natural resource management - specially pertaining to India’s National Reports (NR5 and NR6)3 to the Convention on Biological Diversity, SDG4 and Post 2020 Global Biodiversity Framework5. Based on the performance they would be shortlisted for virtual personal interview in the month of December 2021. Information about specific examination and interview dates will be made available on www.nbaindia.org and www.in.undp.org\
Note:
May be increased or decreased as per functional needs
These interns are likely to work in the States of Assam, Nagaland and Manipur to carry out activities under UNDP-North East India Bio-cultural Conservation Initiative (NEBCI)
