India is soon to get its first Forest University as, Government of #Telangana decides to upgrade Forest College and Research Institute (#FCRI) in #Hyderabad to University of Forestry (#UOF)
The ‘University of Forestry (UOF) will be the first of its kind in the country. With only Russia and China having forest universities in the world, globally, this will be the third university of forestry.
Along with starting 18 additional programmes including PhD, diploma, and certifications in Agri & Forestry, the university shall network with global Institutions, produce qualified forestry professionals, promote R&D, support #TelanganakuHarithaHaram & train our farmers
To offer world-class education, the university will also network and partner with similar institutions to synergize learning. The university will promote action research by providing extensive training to the farmers.
The number of students studying at the university will also increase to 726
