PRE CONTEXT OF THE SIKKOLU SUPER 6 PROGRAM:
For the comprehensive development of Srikakulam district across various sectors Sikkolu Super 6 program has been designed. This initiative targets six key areas of agriculture & irrigation,fishermen development, sports, tourism, employment creations and others (Railways, NH development, Jawan welfare, GI tag to Khadi etc). By focusing on these crucial aspects, the program aims to foster sustainable growth, enhance livelihoods, and unlock the full potential of Srikakulam.
OBJECTIVE OF THE INTERNSHIP:Effective implementation of Sikkolu Super 6 manifesto program through understanding & addressing local governance issues in Srikakulam constituency.
Last date for Application: July 15, 2024
INTERN REQUIREMENTS :
1) Under or Post graduates with backgrounds in relevant fields .
(e.g : Agriculture, Urban planning, rural development, sports management, etc),
2) UPSC aspirants who have qualified for prelims (For a generalist approach).
We might require 4-5 interns who can work on assigned subject fields.
NO SUBJECT FIELD
1 Agriculture & Irrigation , Market Studies.
2 Fisherman development, Fisheries & Animal Husbandry .
3 Urban Governance , Clean air , Waste Management ,Transportation.
4 Rural development , Panchayati Raj, Clean energy , MGNREGS , Women and
Child development
5 Sports, Tourism & Others
DURATION: 6 months
LOCATION: Based primarily in Srikakulam constituency. (No Online mode of work)
ORIENTATION KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER : Introduction of interns to the
constituency’s socio-economic context, governance structure, Sikkolu Super 6 manifesto
and other key stakeholders involved for coordination.s
SUPERVISION: Assign experienced person (MP’s office staff) to guide interns
throughout their projects and regular feedback sessions will take place to review interns work and provide constructive input.
EVALUATION CRITERIA: Assess interns based on the quality of their research,
feasibility of solutions proposed, and their overall contribution to governance and impact assessment can be done to get impact of recommendations on ground
FINAL PRESENTATION: Interns are required to present their findings and
recommendations to the MP and other relevant stakeholders.
CONCLUSION :- The role of an intern in a governance internship is multifaceted, involving research, proposal development,communication, and professional growth. Their contributions aim to address local challenges, provide actionable recommendations, and support the overall objectives of improving governance and community development in Srikakulam constituency.
