5th IGM on Climate-Proofing Cereal Agriculture: Strategies for Resilience and Sustainability



The 5th International Group Meeting (IGM) is being conceived to address these challenges and will provide a platform for researchers, academicians, extension workers, and students working in cereal crops to share and discuss their latest innovations and advancements in these crops primarily focusing on research. Moreover, IGM will provide invaluable opportunity to develop new collaborations and networking among professionals and experts across geographical boundaries to collectively address shared challenges. Through open dialogue, knowledge sharing and the establishment of international partnerships, this meeting will play a crucial role in fostering a more interconnected and collaborative global community through scientific deliberations

The organizers of 5 th International Group Meeting on “Climate-Proofing Cereal Agriculture: Strategies for Resilience” invite abstracts from interested persons engaged in research, development, marketing, finance, export organizations and industries representing wheat. Abstracts will be evaluated by a group of eminent professionals for their suitability for oral/poster presentation. Authors are requested to specify the relevant thematic area in which the paper needs to be considered. Selected abstracts will be published as full length articles in the form of in the special issue of NAAS rated Journal of Cereal Research (NAAS 2024 ratings: 5.05) published by Society for Advancement of Wheat & Barley Research (SAWBAR), Karnal, Haryana, India. The Abstract should be more than 500 words typed. The registered participants shall only be allowed for only one Oral or Poster presentations (as first author) based on selection by the technical screening committee. However, individual can be a co-author of abstracts submitted by other registered delegates. Best Poster and Oral presenters of each session will be felicitated with awards. Winners will receive certificates and momentoes.

  • Theme I: Conventional breeding, biotechnology, bio-informatics, genetic engineering, phenomics, genomics and proteomics for cereal improvement

  • Theme II: Mitigation Strategies for abiotic stress management in cereal crops

  • Theme III: Biotic Stress dynamics under changing environments

  • Theme IV: Cereal quality, nutrition, post-harvest processing, value addition and marketing for food safety and global nutritional security

  • Theme V: Climate change mitigation strategies, resource management, conservation agriculture, integrated farming for sustainable cereal production systems

  • Theme VI: Industry linkages and agri-business for food and nutritional security
