MOBILE APP FOR FARMERS IN INDIA
 
Kisan Suvidha:
It provides information on current weather and also the forecast for the next five days, market prices of commodities/crops in nearest town, knowledge on fertilizers, seeds, machinery, etc
 
IFFCO Kisan Agriculture:
IFFCO Kisan is a subsidiary of Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Ltd. Users can access a variety of informative modules including agricultural advisory, weather, market prices, agriculture information library in the form of text, imagery, audio, and videos in the selected language at the profiling stage.
 
RML Farmer- Krishi Mitr:
It’s a useful farming app where farmers can keep up with the latest commodity and mandi prices, precise usage of pesticides and fertilizers, farm and farmer-related news, weather forecast, and advisory.
 
Pusa Krishi:
It is developed by Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI). It provides farmers with information related to new varieties of crops developed by the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), resource-conserving cultivation practices, farm machinery, and its implementation will help in increasing returns to farmers.
 
Agri App:
It provides complete information on Crop Production, Crop Protection, and all relevant agriculture allied services. Moreover, an option to chat with experts, video-based learning, the latest news, online markets for fertilizers, insecticides, etc. are also available on this app.
 
Crop Insurance:
It helps farmers to calculate insurance premiums for notified crops and provides information on cut-off dates and company contacts for their crop and location.
 
Kheti-Badi: ‘Kheti-Badi’ (खेती–बाड़ी)-
it is a social initiative app that aims to promote and support ‘Organic Farming’ and provide important information/issues to India's farmers. This app is currently only available in four languages(Hindi, English, Marathi, and Gujarati).
 
Agri-Market:
The app has been developed to keep farmers abreast of crop prices and discourage them from going for distress sales. Farmers can get information related to prices of crops in markets within 50km of their own device location using the AgriMarket Mobile App.

Geographical Indication (GI) tags. In Mango

 

Suvarnarekha and Banganapalli mango varieties of Andhra Pradesh carry Geographical Indication (GI) tags. 

 

About Banganapalli mango  

Banganapalli mango is cultivated widely in South India, especially in Andhra Pradesh, where it is the chief commercial early season variety of mango. The mango fruits are large in size. They weigh an average of 350-400 grams. The fruit has fiberless pulp, is firm and yellow with sweet taste. Fruits carry good keeping quality.  

About Suvarnarekha mango 

Suvarnarekha mango is indigenous to Andhra Pradesh. This is a regular and heavy bearing variety, maturing early. Mango fruits are medium in size. They become light cadmium in color when ripe and exhibit a red blush. Fruit flesh is soft, fiberless, and primuline yellow. Fruits have good keeping quality.
